The sellers have no idea what make this stove is but if they do not sell it...it goes to the scrap yard.it is in Blackwell, Oklahoma,
The post has ended but the stove did not sell.Is it a Round Oak? it looks something like the ones I have seen and almost looks like ours but being new to the cook stove style, I'm just not sure. Anyway, too bad to see it go to the junk yard.

There are a few simple safety rules to operate a RO cylinder stove. The stoves I am discussing are the ROs built from the 1890s thru 1947.
I am addressing wood fuel operating procedures. Coal requires a different operating procedure.
1) I do not recommend burning a stove with defects such as holes in the cylinder barrel or cracks in the fire pot and ash pit or if there are gaps in the stove seams. Burning with defects limits the ability to safely control the fire.
2) Make sure "wood grate" is…

Member Jerry Sage inquired how I obtained my ROs and wanted me to name 4 - 5 features I liked about the ROs. I assumed he was inquiring about cylinder style stoves.
I have bought and sold countless ROs since the 1960s and acquired them through several means and circumstances and some vicariously. Radio ads, newspaper and shopping news ads, ads in grocery stores, hardware stores and etc., word of mouth, auctions and farm sales, curbside and along highways. Several stoves were brought to me to res…

I found your website when I asked Google about the Culter & Proctor Stove Company...we have a 16" Hamilton Oak(airtight?) which was made way back when...possibly 1916?...we use it in our cabin and it works just great! Back in 1980 I sent a question to the Peoria paper asking if anyone had any knowledge of the stove and I received three responses...and I'll share one letter with you:
Dear Mr. Nelson:, Nov 24, 1980
I saw your article on the editorial page of today's paper and it naturaly caugh…

I recently purchased a Moore Brothers Gas Cook Stove I think is from the 1930's. I haven't been able to find any information about it. The stove is in good shape but does need some work. I would like to bring it back to a show room look but I need some direction. Does anybody know anything about this type of stove and where the best resources are for a working restoration?

I did however, stumble upon it here with Jack's post with the same stove also looking for information. I am hoping that he had some luck and might be kind enough to pass it along.
